Bio: Christopher D. Sims is a longtime writer of poetry, stories, spoken word poems, songs, conscious and creative rap lyrics and a performance artist. He addresses social justice issues in his work and during his public speaking and performances. He has performed or spoken all over the country, including Washington, DC, Toronto, Ontario, at Cornel University in Ithaca, NY, Memphis, TN, San Diego, CA, Madison, WI, New York City, Fairhope, AL, Portland, OR, Hendersonville, NC, and various other places. Christopher lives to share the Black experience through his writings, research, and performances. What inspires and informs his writings and performances are movements such as the Black Arts Movement, the Harlem Renaissance, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Black Power Movement.
